There may be no chance of a Led Zeppelin reunion anytime soon, but Robert Plant has new music on the way. The singer-songwriter shared an optimistic new track called "Rainbow" from his forthcoming, grammatically-daring solo album lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar.
Built above some fuzzy, persistent percussion, "Rainbow" is an uplifting track featuring breezy, enveloping guitars and lyrics about love, lucky charms and yes, rainbows.
lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar drops September 9 via Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records, marking the first time Plant has released through the label. It was produced by Plant and mostly recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World studios. Plant has compared its sound to West African music and Massive Attack.
It will be his first album since 2010's Band of Joy, a collaboration with Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller.
Robert Plant and his new band, the Sensational Space Shifters, will tour Europe this July and the United Kingdom this November, with an American tour set for the fall.
