America's Gerry Beckley Releases Video From Upcoming Solo Album

Gerry Beckley, co-founding member of Grammy Award-winning rock band America, has released the lyric video for "Tokyo," the lead single from his upcoming 12-track solo album Carousel, out Friday, September 9 via the Los Angeles-based indie label Blue √Član Records. You can view the video below.

Beckley says the inspiration behind "Tokyo" came when he was waiting for a plane. "You never know where creativity is gonna come, but in this case I almost missed the flight. I got started scribbling and stuff and of course lost track of time, and then I looked up and saw that, jeez, it's been boarding for 20 minutes."

Carousel was recorded at Beckley's Los Angeles studio Human Nature. The album contains original standouts such as the deeply personal "Lifeline," "No Way I'm Gonna Lose You" (co-written with Dan Wilson, who won an award for his work with Adele) and "Tokyo." There are also three covers: Spirit's "Nature's Way," Gerry Rafferty's "To Each and Everyone," and Gerry and The Pacemakers' "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying."

Meanwhile, America will be touring throughout the fall. For more information on tour dates and where to purchase tickets, go to http://www.venturahighway.com.
