John Lodge Of The Moody Blues Comes Aboard 'Cruise To The Edge'

After five decades of success with The Moody Blues, singer and bassist John Lodge will be joining Cruise To the Edge (CTTE) this coming February 7-11, 2017, aboard the world's greatest Progressive Rock Music Experience.

Coming off his first solo tour in the UK this September, Lodge's "10,000 Light Years Band" will accompany him aboard CTTE for exclusive performances and other events featuring the band. CTTE will be the first opportunity for fans to see Lodge and his mates "live" in the U.S.

Lodge and his band will be performing Moody Blues hits like "Ride My See-Saw," "Candle of Life," "Isn't Life Strange," "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)," "Steppin' In a Slide Zone," "Peak Hour" and a treat or two from Blue Jays, plus songs from his critically acclaimed solo album, 10,000 Light Years Ago, which includes the single "In My Mind" and earned the iconic artist an "Anthem of the Year" nomination at the 2015 Prog Magazine Awards.
Sailing out of Tampa, FL, February 7-11, 2017, CTTE visits Cozumel, Mexico with a who's-who of prog-rock prodigies. Headliners Yes, Kansas, Steve Hackett of Genesis and John Wetton of King Crimson and Asia join iconic drummer and former member of Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy, on this unparalleled music cruise experience.

In addition to hosting his 50th birthday bash on the cruise, Portnoy will--for the first time ever--perform the Dream Theater's "12 Step Suite" in its entirety. The music documents the musician's battle with alcoholism, and is an ensemble of five songs recorded by the band from 2002 to 2009, with titles that reflect his struggles: "The Glass Prison," "This Dying Soul," "The Root of all Evil," "Repentance" and "The Shattered Fortress."

Other esteemed performers confirmed include: Patrick Moraz, Bad Dreams, The Neal Morse Band, IO Earth, Spock's Beard, Alex Machacek, Änglagard, Stick Men, Haken, Pain of Salvation, Curved Air, Frost*, Electric Asturias, District 97, Scott Henderson, Focus, The Fringe and Dave Kerzner.

In addition, famous Yes album design artist Roger Dean will be aboard to talk about the back story of his unique designs while the cruise will be hosted by UK journalist and preeminent Yes expert, Jon Kirkman.

Beyond the once-in-a-lifetime intimate music experiences with iconic artists, the guests will get to partake in a wide array of activities. Beyond the sun, fun and exquisite dining, there will be Artist/Cruiser Photo Experience, Q&A Sessions, Late-Night Surprise Performances and more. This year will also feature the unprecedented CTTE Late Night Live, where fans can sign up to showcase their own musical talents in four different performance scenarios: Late Night Live Pro Jam, where you could be invited to play with a with a headline act; Artist's Choice, featuring fans and Prog legends performing together; The Main Event, where it's your choice to shine with fellow Late Night Live musicians and Overtime Jam, where a song of your choosing could be featured in a late-night jam.
