Ultimate Jam Night, a free weekly show held every Tuesday night at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood will be honoring AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young and benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association this Tuesday, November 15. The event will be broadcast via Zinna.TV.
Young struggled with the onset of dementia for a period of time prior to being admitted to full-time nursing care in Sydney, Australia, in 2014.
A two-hour-plus “jam” of AC/DC songs, featuring an array of LA-based touring and recording musicians, including former AC/DC drummer Simon Wright, will be on hand.
To donate toward the Ultimate Jam Night Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, go to act.alz.org/goto/RockOutALZ. Funds raised will support local programs of the Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter, as well as providing financial assistance to research and advocacy efforts.
“Malcolm Young created not only music, but an era,” said Ultimate Jam Night founder and Quiet Riot Bassist, Chuck Wright.
“According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5.4 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and other related dementias, so this terrible affliction affects many more like Malcolm,” Simon Wright added.
