Bosnia Pays Tribute To David Bowie With Mural

A group of artists unveiled a huge mural of David Bowie in Sarajevo on Saturday to commemorate the British musician's humanitarian work during the Bosnian war.

To the sound of Bowie's "Space Oddity," up to 300 people attended the inauguration of the mural, which bore the inscription: "Fashion changes, but you'll always be my heroes."

The mural -- 13 meters (43 feet) high and 10.5 meters (34 feet) wide -- is painted on a building on the university campus, a short distance from the street once known as Sniper Alley, and is intended to symbolize the way Bosnia has changed since the end of the 1992-95 war.

Sketches were done by Marvel comics illustrator Enis Cisic and turned into the mural by painter Zoran Herceg, who took a month and half to complete it. The plan to immortalize Bowie, who died of cancer at age 69 on January 10, was initially put forward by local musician Vedad Trbonja.

The project was supported by thousands of Bosnians, who have been posting Bowie-style photos on social networks, as well as some of Bowie's co-workers.

Bowie was moved by the sufferings of Bosnians and he used his fame to increase awareness about the war and raise money for humanitarian purposes, although he did not visit Sarajevo.

"This is a way to pay tribute to Bowie as an artist and humanitarian and immortalize him in the town that never got a chance to host him," said Adnan Comor, a spokesman for the group behind the project, Bowie Team Sarajevo.

Neil Young Clarifies Comments About Donald Trump Using His Songs At Rallies

Neil Young has clarified comments in which he appeared to say he was fine with Republican nominee Donald Trump using his music at rallies.

Trump used the musician's track "Rockin' In The Free World" at the launch of his campaign to run for the White House, prompting Young to issue a cease and desist against the politician.

Young then backtracked, saying: "Once the music goes out, everybody can use it for anything."

"The fact that I said I was for Bernie Sanders and then [Trump] didn't ask me to use 'Rockin' in the Free World' doesn't mean that he can't use it. He actually got a license to use it. I mean, he said he did and I believe him. So I got nothing against him."

Young clarified those comments in an interview with TV's Stephen Colbert. Trump may have legal right to use Young's music, but that doesn't mean the sognwriter is happy about it.

"I didn't like that idea because of the misogyny and the racism," Young told Colbert of his music being associated with the politician.

The Canadian also said he was so vocal about the upcoming US Presidential election despite not being able to vote because "I'm a neighbor, and as such I'm affected by what happens, even though I live [in Canada]."

Jeff Beck To Release 'Loud Hailer' Studio Album In July

On Jeff Beck's forthcoming studio album Loud Hailer, his first in six years, the legendary guitarist combines fluid fretwork with topical lyrics to make a powerful statement about everything from the love of power, to the power of love.

Loud Hailer, which is another name for a megaphone, is a suitable moniker for an album that isn't shy about speaking its mind. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer explains: "I really wanted to make a statement about some of the nasty things I see going on in the world today, and I loved the idea of being at a rally and using this loud device to shout my point of view." The album's first single, the riotous rocker "Live In The Dark," will be unleashed soon.

To help him write the 11 tracks on Loud Hailer, Beck enlisted two fierce young females from London: singer Rosie Bones and guitarist Carmen Vandenberg. It was a chance meeting with Vandenberg last year at a birthday party for Queen drummer Roger Taylor that eventually led to the trio's collaboration.

"She invited me to one of their shows, and I was blown away," the guitarist recalls. "When we got together in January, I explained the subject matter I had in mind, we sat down by the fire with a crate of Prosecco and got right to it. The songs came together very quickly; five in three days."

Beck produced Loud Hailer with Filippo Cimatti, who also works with Bones and Vandenberg. In addition to the core trio, the album also features drummer Davide Sollazzi and bassist Giovanni Pallotti, who were both recruited by Cimatti.

Bones lends her powerful voice to nine of the 11 songs on Loud Hailer, including the intense album opener "The Revolution Will Be Televised," the reflective ballad "Scared For The Children," the funk infused "O.I.L." and the tranquil album closer "Shrine." The album is rounded out by two signature Beck instrumentals in "Pull It" and "Edna."

A few days after the album's release, Beck will launch a summer tour of the U.S. with blues legend Buddy Guy. And on August 10, Beck, with special guests to be announced shortly, will make his Hollywood Bowl debut for a very special, career-spanning concert that celebrates 50 years of 'dynamic music making.' "It will be head teacher Beck in a gown and mortar board in front of the class giving everyone a history lesson," he jokes. The show will also include an orchestra.

In addition to recording Loud Hailer, Beck has been hard at work on his first official book, BECK01 (Genesis Publications, jeffbeckbook.com). Available on July 12, this signed, limited edition book explores Beck's passions for hot rodding and rock 'n' roll.

Inspired by the sleek curves, luxurious finish and iconic imagery of the hot rods he builds, BECK01 is hand-bound in leather and aluminum with every book numbered and personally signed by the author, Jeff Beck. The guitarist's handpicked selection of more than 400 rare and unseen photographs and items of memorabilia is narrated with an original manuscript of nearly 20,000 words, making BECK01 the definitive visual and historical record of the dynamic musician. Included is an eloquent forward by John McLaughlin that begins, "Jeff Beck is my all-time favorite guitarist, what do I say after that?" Indeed.

Kickstarter Campaign Underway To Fund Tangerine Dream Documentary

Tangerine Dream started the production of their first documentary in 2014. Following the sudden passing of founder Edgar Froese, the project evolved from a short piece into a full-length feature covering both the Tangerine Dream and Froese’s lifetime work.

A Kickstarter campaign has been started to fund the shooting of more footage and the acquisition of early tracks’ licenses.

A statement from the band reads: “With the help of the crowd – this is YOU – we want to shoot more interviews, obtain more archive material and acquire licenses for the early Tangerine Dream tracks owned by former labels including Virgin and Sony.”

The story of Tangerine Dream will be reconstructed through several interviews with Edgar Froese’s wife Bianca Froese-Acquaye together with band members, close friends, artists and famous collaborators.

The film will also include previously unpublished footage from Froese's private archive.

Ultimately, it’s homage to Edgar Froese and the early era of electronic music. Luminaries like Queen’s guitarist Brian May have pledged support of the film.

May, who recorded the album Sonic Universe with Tangerine Dream in 2011 at Tenerife’s STARMUS Festival, said, “I’m grateful I had the opportunity to contribute to this piece on Edgar because truly he was something wonderful, and for me it was something wonderful in my life to have an opportunity to interact with him and create together, and I remember him very fondly.”

Lifelong Rolling Stones Fan Visits Exhibitionism, Gets Surprise Meet & Greet With Band

Alex Emanuel, a lifelong Rolling Stones fan was left feeling like a rock star when he met his heroes while touring Exhibitionism - the first exhibition on The Rolling Stones held at London's Saatchi Gallery until September 4.

New Yorker Alex was genuinely shocked when he turned round after a tap on the arm to be met by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood, whilst enjoying the Recording Gallery within the critically acclaimed, blockbuster exhibition.

As Alex exchanged handshakes and back slaps with his heroes, he said afterwards: "It's going to sound silly but for a moment I thought I was a member of the Rolling Stones. It's not every day you get to meet your idols."

Unlocking their vast archive, Exhibitionism is a Rolling Stones treasure trove, curated over 9 themed gallery spaces with 500 items from original stage costumes, rare instruments, lyric books, backstage and touring paraphernalia, album art, photography, stage designs, personal diaries and never before released audio and behind-the-scenes footage.

Celebrating the Stones' artistic collaborations in music, art and design, fashion and film, Exhibitionism features original works on display from an array of artists as diverse as Andy Warhol, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Dior, Ossie Clark, L'Wren Scott, David Bailey, Michael Cooper, Jeff Koons, Walton Ford, Shepard Fairey and Martin Scorsese to name a few.

Alex also visited iconic Rolling Stones locations during his trip to London including Edith Grove, Chelsea where the band lived together, Regents Sounds in Denmark Street where they cut their first couple of albums, the 100 Club where they played an impromptu gig in 1982 and Olympic Studios where 'Sympathy for the Devil' was recorded.

Alex added: "Liverpool has The Beatles, Memphis has Elvis - The Rolling Stones are London. The Stones have been with me all my life so to visit Exhibitionism in London was fantastic. The show has given me a unique glimpse of the city through the eyes of The Rolling Stones."

Thea Jeanes-Cochrane, Director of iEC (International Entertainment Consulting), the company behind Exhibitionism, said: "We're thrilled to have made Alex's dreams come true at Exhibitionism. The exhibition offers the most in-depth insight into The Rolling Stones and their incredible career. We've worked hard to create something utterly breath-taking and it's very pleasing to see the fans reactions. Alex has obviously enjoyed every moment. Meeting the band was the ultimate icing on the cake!"

Alex was taken on the once-in-a-lifetime trip to London, after the city's official tourism body, Visitlondon.com identified him as a genuine 'super fan' of the Rolling Stones.

In 2014 London's live gigs attracted 6.6 million people around half of which were tourists. These 3.3 million visitors generated £663 million for the local economy, and helped sustain 4,847 jobs in London.

Chris Gottlieb, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at VisitLondon.com added: "Alex's Rolling Stones tour of London shows how the city is steeped in the history of one of the world's greatest rock bands."

Tourism initiative Fans of London - devised by Visitlondon.com, which is supported by the GREAT Britain Campaign, British Airways and Hilton celebrates the blockbuster events across London this year including The Queen's 90th birthday, 400 years of Shakespeare, and the world's first international exhibition on The Rolling Stones, Exhibitionism.

Exhibitionism runs until 4 September at London's Saatchi Gallery. Tickets are available at stonesexhibitionism.com.

Happy 50th Birthday To The Beach Boys Masterpiece, Pet Sounds

Today marks 50 years since the Beach Boys' seminal masterpiece Pet Sounds came out. Since then, the album has been universally hailed as one of popular music's most important recordings. In everything written about Pet Sounds, “genius” and “masterpiece” are two words that invariably appear from one sentence to the next. Of course, the former is applied to the album’s creator and spiritual avatar, Brian Wilson.
Inspired by the Beatles’ Rubber Soul album, Wilson set out to construct the greatest pop record ever made. He carefully aligned the famous Beach Boy harmony with a wall of instrumentation worming in and out of occasional smatterings of foolhardy intonations from trains and barking dogs. Everyone from Garry Trudeau to Paul McCartney has reserved the highest praises for Pet Sounds and its breathtaking production — in mono, no less.
It wasn’t easy for the reclusive Wilson. The thoughtful accolades, the yearning for surf songs, followed by the abuse from his father, his band mates, his record label and the abandoned Smile sessions — all grounded him into a sandbox of disorientation. Defying all odds, he has lived to tell about it. Fifty years later, Pet Sounds remains the quintessential traipse of the 1960s, the precursor to the rock album as an art form to behold.
Overwhelmed with the demands of touring, Wilson retired to the studio in 1965. Brimming with creative ideas, he started laying down tracks and brought in a ‘wrecking crew’ of musicians to realize his vision — all while the remaining Beach Boys were on the road.
All this time, Wilson was transforming into a musical wizard, whipping up strange concoctions for a Beach Boys album through the magic of big production. He tackled themes beyond the soda shop, the drag strip and the California coastline. He wrote fewer songs with Mike Love, and more songs with non-Beach Boys Tony Asher and Van Dyke Parks. His palette was seething with layers, pinches, dashes and sweet melodies.
“Wouldn’t It Be Nice” is a perfect example. A shimmering intro seamlessly slices through the melody before we get a stupendous vocal blend from Wilson, brother Dennis and Mike Love. What follows is a litany of emotion, teeming with rich instrumentation — saxophones, bicycle bells, tympanis, violins, accordions and French horns.
“God Only Knows,” featuring an eloquent vocal from Carl Wilson, “Caroline No” and the album’s only cover “Sloop John B” would become nominal hits of the day. Brian Wilson exhibits a remarkable flair for arrangement on the instrumental “Let’s Go Away For Awhile.” The autobiographical “I Just Wasn’t Made For These Times” is a confessional ballad with a clip clop that’ll make you wince.
As diverse and rich as it is, Pet Sounds was not an instant smash upon its May 16, 1966 release. Capitol Records didn’t exactly give it a ringing endorsement; in fact, they released a Beach Boys compilation at the same time. In England, it was a different story. Bruce Johnston, the sixth Beach Boy, was in London and played it for John Lennon and Paul McCartney. After repeated listenings, the two Beatles were both inspired to expand their songwriting and recording skills, culminating with Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. And the rest, as they say, is rock and roll history.
Over the years, Pet Sounds has been reissued in numerous configurations. Fans have been able to indulge in Wilson’s process with access to early takes, alternates, backing tracks, available in both mono and stereo. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Capitol has upped the ante with various expanded editions, including a box set that not only digs deep into every nook and cranny of the album, but also features remastered (in some cases, remixed) versions of the original album in stereo, mono, high resolution stereo, mono, and — viola! — 5.1 surround.
Session outtakes, alternate mixes, previously unreleased live recordings and tons of reading material round out the box set. Double disc sets pair the remastered album in stereo and mono with highlights from the box set. And, as is the trend, there is also a180-gram LP edition of the album in mono and stereo with the original artwork replicated.
As the Beach Boys’ 11th studio release, Pet Sounds has come to define everything there is to love and appreciate about Brian Wilson and the passion and craftsmanship he pored into his music in the 1960s. More than anything, Pet Sounds was a giant leap forward that didn’t taint the formula. You got the familiar, innocent harmonies of the Beach Boys, enhanced with musical sophistication, hanging on themes that were deeper, more abstract. Fifty years later, Wilson tours the world with a world-class band and recreates Pet Sounds, note-for-note, exactly as he had envisioned. To celebrate the legacy of one of the most important recordings of the 20th century is pure redemption in Wilson’s tumultuous life. Indeed, all the traits of any great artist.

Glenn Hughes Details Black Country Communion Reunion

Exclusive photos by Kimberly Annette Photography

On Thursday, May 12, at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, musicians from around the globe came together to honor 2016 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) and Robin Zander (Cheap Trick).

Billed as a benefit concert for Adopt The Arts (a Los Angeles-based charity co-founded by musician Matt Sorum and activist Abby Berman that works to preserve arts programs in U.S. public schools), featured performers alongside Hughes, Zander and Sorum, included Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses), Billy Duffy (the Cult), Dean and Robert Deleo (Stone Temple Pilots), Steve Lukather (Toto), and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).

On the red carpet before the show, Hughes talked about, among other things, the recent revelation that Black Country Communion, the band the former Deep Purple bassist co-founded in 2009 with guitarist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham and keyboardist Derek Sherinian, are reuniting.

“Yes, Joe and I are writing at the end of July,” Hughes confided. “We're making the album in January. It will be done, as the others were, very quickly. Some of the songs will be written, and some of them will be developed in the studio.”
The singer and bassist, who is finishing a solo album in June and hitting the road to support it in August, emphasized that the reunion came about because of the deep friendship he shares with the others.  “It's a great honor to play with my friends again, because I love those guys — I always have,” he said.

Hughes dismissed the band’s future in 2012 due in part to a conflict with Bonamassa’s solo career, but now he’s changed his tune.

“Solo is all the way for me,” he explained. “Black Country will be like it is for Joe — kind of a side thing.”

Stay tuned to VintageRock.com for exclusive photos and a detailed report on the Adopt The Arts benefit concert, featuring interviews with Glenn Hughes, Robin Zander and Matt Sorum from the red carpet.

Former Yes Men Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin & Rick Wakeman Form Band, Announce Tour

Fans of Yes should love this. The band's original vocalist Jon Anderson, along with keyboardist Rick Wakeman and guitarist Trevor Rabin, both of whom made their mark with Yes in the 70s and 80s, respectively, are coming together after a hiatus of 25 years as Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman (ARW).

It was 1990 when the three last played together during the Union tour, which featured eight members of Yes. The aim of ARW is the restore the standard of excellence in performance that they established in 1990.

"To be able to sing and perform with Rick and Trevor at this time in my life is a treasure beyond words," Anderson says. "I'm so excited to create new music and revisit some of the classic work we created many years ago, it's going to be a musical adventure on so many new levels."

"Trevor and I have wanted to play Yes music together since the Union tour," Wakeman adds. "And as for so many of us, there is no Yes music without Jon.  The 'Holy Trinity of Yes' is for me, very much a dream come true."

While the keyboardist is associated with the '70s "prog era" of the band, Rabin was part of the band's '80s "pop era". Anderson is the bridge between both factions.

Not content to rest on past glory, ARW are working on new songs and recording. The band will make its live debut in North America in October and November, followed by more dates in 2017.

OzzFest Meets KnotFest To Feature Black Sabbath's Final SoCal Appearance

This merger of two of the most well-known and established brands in rock -- OzzFest, celebrating its 20th anniversary, and KnotFest, which debuted in 2012 -- is set for Saturday, September 24 (OzzFest) and Sunday, September 25 (KnotFest) at San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, CA.

Tickets for the Live Nation-produced OzzFest Meets KnotFest -- a multi-stage, two-day weekend camping event with more than 40 acts -- go on sale Friday, May 20 at 10:00 AM (PT) at OzzFest.com and Knotfest.com.  All the details and line-ups (below) were revealed at a major press conference yesterday (Thursday, May 12) at the Palladium in Hollywood, CA.

Saturday's OzzFest will be headlined by Black Sabbath, marking their last Southern California performance as part of the band's final tour, and Sunday's KnotFest bill is topped by the festival's namesake, Slipknot. On hand at the press conference were OzzFest founder Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot's Corey Taylor and M. Shawn Crahan (aka Clown). The event began with a movie screening, followed by a Q&A session with artists from the OzzFest Meets KnotFest bill and concluded with a performance from Zakk Sabbath, led by Zakk Wylde.

"We are here to create havoc and history," says Ozzy Osbourne. "Let the madness begin..."

"This could be the one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of," says Corey Taylor of Slipknot.  "Starting out as an Ozzfest band, coming into our own with KnotFest and now combining forces to make a little metal history...it was meant to be and I'm proud to be a part of it."

"Playing with Black Sabbath is always an honor," Shawn "Clown" Crahan of Slipknot exclaims.  "Merging both festivals will be a legendary experience that will be life-changing for all fans.  We are excited to bring all the families together again."

"We want it to be the loudest, biggest, dirtiest festival in California. We couldn't be happier," says Sharon Osbourne.

"The impact of Ozzfest on heavy music and on Slipknot, cannot be underestimated," says Cory Brennan, President, 5B Artist Management.  "For 20 years Ozzfest has given fans their first glimpse at bands like Slipknot, Disturbed and countless others, but also bringing new fans and bands together every year.  Ozzfest inspired Slipknot to continue this vital tradition with Knotfest, and it's an honor to celebrate our genre alongside them in 2016."

The San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds is where  OzzFest -- the event that launched the U.S. hard rock festival market and went on to tour the world--began in 1996 and where KnotFest last year took over the San Bernardino, CA venue and expanded into a camping festival. There's also a longtime history between the two namesakes of the events, with Slipknot appearing at  OzzFest in 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2013 at the inaugural OzzFest Japan.

The OzzFest Meets KnotFest 2016 line-up is as follows, with both  OzzFest and KnotFest dedicating a stage in honor of their departed comrade Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead.

Complete Pink Floyd Catalog To Be Reissued On Vinyl

For the first time in over two decades, Pink Floyd Records will begin the reintroduction of the Pink Floyd catalog on vinyl. The first four records to be released on June 3, 2016 include: The Piper At The Gates of Dawn, A Saucerful Of Secrets, the soundtrack from the film More and the double LP set Ummagumma.

Pink Floyd Records will reproduce the vinyl catalog throughout the year with release dates being announced at regular intervals. In the meantime, all Pink Floyd records are now available on CD, digital and most streaming platforms.

Special care has been taken to replicate the original packaging. The first set of releases, mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman will be pressed on 180 gram vinyl for optimum sound quality.

Pink Floyd featuring Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason first broke onto the music scene in 1967, with the hit single "Arnold Layne." Despite the departure of Syd Barrett, the group, which now included David Gilmour, recorded some of the most innovative and ground breaking records of the time, culminating in 1973 with one of the biggest selling albums of all time, The Dark Side Of The Moon.  There followed numerous global number 1 albums, including The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here, The Final Cut and 2014's finale, The Endless River.

Pink Floyd Records releases will be manufactured and distributed by Warner Music for the UK and Europe and by Sony Music for North America and the rest of the world.

Max Lousada, Chairman and CEO Warner Music UK said: "We're proud to continue to support one of the world's greatest and most influential bands. This is an exciting new chapter in our long-standing partnership with Pink Floyd and we look forward to working with them to help curate their remarkable body of work."

Rob Stringer, Chairman and CEO Columbia Records said: "We are proud to continue the long standing relationship in North America and beyond between Columbia Records and Pink Floyd. We are excited to work together with the band on their incredible musical legacy."

Axl Rose Makes His Debut With AC/DC

From The Independent

It has been a long time coming but finally Axl Rose joined AC/DC as the band’s lead singer in Lisbon, kicking off the final stage of their Rock or Bust tour.

While over 7,000 fans have reportedly asked for refunds, the Guns N' Roses frontman has seemingly been a hit with both fans and critics alike.

Although he was confined to Dave Grohl's throne due to an injured leg, Rose powered through the band’s classic hits, including “Shoot to Thrill”, “Back in Black” and “Highway to Hell”.

The Guardian has already heralded the performance as a triumph in a five-star review, as did Rolling Stone who said in their review “the new union's potential to be one of the touring hits of the summer”.

Speaking to fans after the concert, Sky News were also met by an overtly positive response. "Axl Rose has a lot of respect for the group and he has the voice for it," said Paulo Dias told the broadcaster.

"Of course, he can't replace Brian Johnson, but Axl Rose is a good singer," agreed Francis Vega, who had flown in from the Canary Islands to see the supergroup play.

However, there was one less positive response: "Axl Rose is nothing like Brian Johnson," Marcos Vizoso, who had brought his 10-year-old daughter to the show, said. "I wanted her to see the original band.”

Brian Johnson had to leave the Rock or bust tour earlier this year due to hearing problems. The singer was “crushed” by the news. Several months were then spent looking for a new singer, until Axl Rose was confirmed to be joining the band. Axl recently admitted he was finding the vocals on some AC/DC songs difficult.

Little Richard 'Annoyed' At Death Rumors, 'Still Singing'

Little Richard's lawyer says reports of the rock and roll pioneer's death are greatly exaggerated. After a rumor began making the rounds over the weekend that the 83-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was in ill health, longtime attorney William Sobel told Rolling Stone on Tuesday that the reports are false.

"He said, 'You know, I want you to talk to [the press] because I'm really annoyed,'" Richard reportedly told Sobel on Tuesday in reaction to a Facebook post (since deleted) from funk icon Bootsy Collins on April 28 that read: "A friend, a legend & some say the true King of Rock & Roll. Little Richard needs our love & understanding right now... He is not in the best of health so I ask all the Funkateers to lift him up."

Though he's been mostly out of the public eye for the past few years, Richard denied that he's gravely ill. "'Not only is my family not gathering around me because I'm ill, but I'm still singing," he told Sobel. "I don't perform like I used to, but I have my singing voice, I walk around, I had hip surgery a while ago but I'm healthy.'"

Sobel confirmed that Richard had hip surgery and that he's as mobile as you might expect any 83-year-old to be, perhaps more so. "I don't know how many 83-year-olds still get up and rock it out every week, but in light of the rumors, I wanted to tell you that he's vivacious and conversant about a ton of different things and he's still very active in a daily routine." Richard suffered a heart attack in September 2013 and credited Jesus with saving his life.

Sobel, who said he used to represent Prince, noted that Richard recently chatted with him about the late pop icon, calling him a "creative genius."

Van Morrison Releasing Live Collection From 1973 Concert Tour

Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, in association with Exile Productions, Ltd., is pleased to announce the release of Van Morrison's ...It's Too Late To Stop Now...Volumes II, III, IV & DVD on Friday, June 10.

A triple CD with a single DVD collection of previously unreleased live concert recordings from Morrison's mythic 1973 tour with the Caledonia Soul Orchestra, ...It's Too Late To Stop Now...Volumes II, III, IV & DVD collates peak performances originally recorded at three venues: the Troubadour in Los Angeles, the Santa Monica Civic Center, and the Rainbow Theatre in London. The set's DVD features professionally lensed live footage from the Rainbow Theatre, which originally aired on the BBC in the UK and is now available for the first time as a commercial home video release.

Often cited as one of the best live albums ever made, Van Morrison's original ...It's Too Late To Stop Now... has been remastered in 24-bit high resolution sound and will be available in both 2CD and 2LP configurations, creating the first vinyl pressing of the album in more than 25 years plus availability of the album to hi-res partners (Mastered for iTunes, HD Tracks, Pono).

Morrison's highly acclaimed 1973 concert album was compiled from eight sets of live performances--recorded at The Troubadour, the Santa Monica Civic Center and The Rainbow Theatre--and was notably free of any post-performance overdubs or studios "fixes". ...It's Too Late To Stop Now... returns to those original performances, first captured on two-inch 16-track analog tapes, and, through the mastery of noted engineer Guy Massey, puts the contemporary listener in the enviable position of being sonically present at each venue. All of the recordings on the new collection have been previously unavailable and none of them overlap with the performances on "Volume I" of ...It's Too Late To Stop Now....

"I am getting more into performing," said Van Morrison in 1973, during his tour with his newly-formed Caledonia Soul Orchestra. "It's incredible…. All of a sudden I felt like 'you're back into performing' and it just happened like that…. A lot of times in the past I've done gigs and it was rough to get through them. But now the combination seems to be right and it's been clicking a lot."

Morrison's 1973 tour found the Irish soul singer at the peak of his powers, returning to the stage to deliver scorching definitive renditions of the signature material comprising his catalog at the time, from the R&B/rock roots of THEM to the haunting folk soul of Astral Weeks and Moondance in songs like "Gloria," "Into The Mystic," "Warm Love," "Domino" and more. Accompanied by the 11-piece Caledonia Soul Orchestra, featuring two horn players and a four-piece string section, Van Morrison set a new standard for live performance while ...It's Too Late To Stop Now... raised the bar on what was possible on a concert recording.

Each disc on ...It's Too Late To Stop Now... features previously unreleased performances, newly remixed from the original multitrack recordings by Guy Massey (the acclaimed engineer behind the remasters of the Beatles and Paul McCartney). Massey's new mixes recreate the sonic atmosphere of each venue, from the standing-room-only intimacy of the Troubadour to the expansive excitement filling the 3,000-seat Rainbow Theatre.

Steven Tyler Going Solo At Lincoln Center

Tongiht (May 2), Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will perform an intimate concert event to benefit his charity, Janie's Fund at Lincoln Center in New York City. Directed by award-winning director Brett Ratner, "Steven Tyler…Out On A Limb" gives audiences a never-before-seen Tyler as he shares in-depth stories and insights from stage and performs alongside his Nashville-based band, Loving Mary.

Tyler will also be auctioning of his personal Hennessey Venom GT, the world's fastest car, to benefit Janie's Fund. The car will be on-site at Lincoln Center.

Janie's Fund is a philanthropic initiative created by Steven Tyler in partnership with Youth Villages to bring hope and healing to abused and neglected girls across America. Launched in November 2015, Janie's Fund was created with two important goals in mind: to bring much-needed awareness to the issue of childhood abuse and neglect in our country and to generate much-needed financial support to ensure that girls receive the most effective support available to help them overcome the trauma and pain of abuse.
